Why Halloween is one of the Best Holliday’s

Anyone who thinks Halloween is the worst is no fun. There are cool costumes, tons of candy, and the best part is that everything is optional. Between this, and the fact that it takes place during the coziest time of year, Halloween really can’t be beat. From the decorations to the haunted houses, keep scrolling to see all the reasons Halloween is the best.

With Halloween, you’ll inevitably have candy left over if you spare it wisely. If you’re too old to trick-or-treat, just buy your own candy. It’s Halloween! Stock up on your favorite candies to enjoy the holiday year-round. There are plenty of ways to make your candy last as long as possible. As long as you don’t eat it all right away, you can enjoy one of the best parts of Halloween for a solid while.

* it’s fun to dress up as someone else

* seeing pets in halloween costumes are adorable

* seeing babies in halloween costumes are even more adorable

* family costumes and couple costumes are so so cute

Fall is beautiful.

no explanation necessary, the color changing leaves, and cozy weather speaks for itself!

Halloween movies are the best.

From “Coraline” to “Halloweentown,” Halloween movies are a fun and festive way to get into the holiday without watching an actually scary movie. And if you like scary movies, tons always get released around Halloween, or sticking with classics like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St can be even better!

carving pumpkins is such a fun activity to do with friends, family, or even by yourself. Carving pumpkins allow for endless possibilities; some people get really creative with their pumpkins, while others go for a classic Jack-o’-lantern.

Everything also becomes pumpkin spiced flavored during the fall. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, desserts, and even air fresheners all have their own pumpkin spice options.

The Scare!

Last but definitely not least, the scare! Who doesn’t love a good scare around halloween time. From scary movies cuddled up with your friends, to haunted houses at amuse to parts, and even fun pranks, getting scared can be a super fun way to enjoy halloween. The best part about this, it’s totally voluntary. Anyone can celebrate halloween however they want, even if it’s just sitting inside and putting up fall decorations. Spooky Season is ALWAYS the best season. Period.

Why The Toronto Raptors Can and Will Win The 2019 NBA Playoffs

For the first time ever, the Toronto Raptors have made it to the NBA Finals. Thought there are many people doubting their ability to win against Golden State, there are certain factors that may just guarantee them the title of 2019 NBA Champions.

1. Kawhi Leonard

Leonard is the one superstar the Warriors haven’t fully solved. He was famously torching them in Game 1 of the 2017 Playoffs before Zaza Pachulia slid under his ankle, but he’s also had other standout moments over the years. You may recall him snatching Stephen Curry’s dignity in a 15-point win near the end of Golden State’s first title season, leading a 29-point beatdown in Kevin Durant’s regular-season debut, and lighting them up for 37 points on 24 shots in his first and only game against the Warriors as a member of the Raptors. It’s a stretch to say he has the Warriors’ number, but save for LeBron James at his absolute peak, Leonard comes closer than any other player.

2. Defense

The Raptors have not had the best defense in the NBA this season, but they’ve been close, finishing fifth in defensive efficiency. However, I cannot help but believe that the Raptors may have the highest defensive ceiling of any team in the playoffs. While neither Kawhi Leonard or Marc Gasol are at their Defensive Player of the Year-winning peaks, both are still respectively capable of great perimeter defense and rim protection.

3. They won’t have to play Lebron

Three seasons in a row, the Raptors were eliminated by a LeBron James-led Cavaliers team, ending last year on a ten-game postseason losing streak to Cleveland. This year, though, the Raptors don’t have to worry about him! He’s not going to be in the playoffs at all, which should potentially open a lot of doors for them this postseason. There are legitimate questions about the Raptors playoff struggles throughout the years, even apart from their annual collapses against the Cavaliers, but not having to face LeBron removes one major obstacle to playoff success that has impeded them in the past.

4. Home Court

The Warriors have been strong on the road this postseason, but the Raptors are 8-2 in Toronto in the playoffs and have had some huge road victories (Game 4 in Philadelphia, Game 5 in Milwaukee). Getting a potential Game 7 in Scotiabank Arena is certainly better than having to travel for it, and the Raptors are 3-0 in home closeout games this year.

NBA Rumors: How Kyrie Irving Influences the Celtics’ Pursuit of Anthony Davis

The Boston Celtics are expected to be major players in the Anthony Davis sweepstakes this summer, but they have an obstacle to take care of before making a run at the superstar big man.

As many already know, Kyrie Irving is opting out of his contract at season’s end and becoming a free agent. While Irving back in October vocalized his intention to re-sign in Boston, that commitment doesn’t feel like as much of a promise as it did a few months back.

And if the Celtics aren’t able to retain the star point guard, his departure might ruin their chances with Davis as well. During Tuesday’s edition of “First Things First” on FOX Sports 1, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix spoke much about just how much Irving impacts Boston’s pursuit of Anthony Davis.

If the Celtics re-sign Kyrie Irving, they’re going to go all in for Anthony Davis. And that does mean Tatum, Draft picks, Jaylen Brown, whatever it takes to get AD on this roster. If they don’t get Kyrie, I’m not sure they put a substantial offer on the table.” — @SIChrisMannix

Mannix’s report supports all the right ideas and puts the situation in the perfect words. It will require quite an effort to obtain Davis, and if Irving ends up leaving, the Celtics likely will shift their focus to building a future with their young core. However,  if Irving signs the dotted line to stay in Boston, the franchise very well could look to pair the sixtime AllStar with Davis in what would be a formidable duo for the foreseeable future.

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Christmas is only two weeks away, but in order to get the full effect and beauty of this holiday, you must be in the spirit. Whether you’re searching for the Christmas spirit yourself, or want to spread the good vibes to your friends and family, here is a list of a couple simple ways to help you get into the Christmas spirit.

1. stream movies 🎥

Seeing is believing, so you’ve got to start by watching Christmas movies. From the classic animations and family comedies to romantic feel-goods, there’s a Christmas movie for every night of December – if you’re dedicated enough.

Here are a few for you to consider:

  • Elf
  • The Grinch
  • Home Alone
  • The Nightmare before Christmas
  • The Polar Express

2. spotify playlists 🎶

When you think of Christmas music, you may already have a go-to album in mind. But you should take a lesson from your Christmas tree and branch out.

Spotify has an endless list of Christmas songs and playlists for you to stream. These are perfect for holiday dinners and boring bus trips.

3. the tree 🎄

On the morning of the 25th, the Christmas tree becomes the centre of everything. So get the tree set up in your living room ASAP.

It’s an early Christmas activity you can do with your family or household and will become a daily reminder of Santa’s impending arrival. And while you decorate your tree, listen to your freshly baked Christmas playlist for the ultimate Christmas feels.

4. email Santa 🎅🏽

He may be hundreds of years old, but Santa Claus has kept up to date with technology. Get little siblings, cousins, or nieces and nefews together and help them craft a letter to Santa, then e-mail it to his personal computer – whether he reads it himself or it’s handled by his elf secretary, it’s all part of the fun.

It’s also a great way to get present ideas for the little ones (unless they’ve been naughty) and gets them even more excited for Christmas. No one can experience the magic of this holiday like little kids, so seeing the world through their eyes will make a big difference for you too.

5. simplify shopping 🛍

If you’re a gift-giver, the infinite aisles of online stores can be exciting and daunting. Don’t just dive in; make a plan of attack for what sites to visit and what you’re after. Also visiting the mall with friends can be a much better experience, and then you’re able to have someone for opinions and advice.

A better plan also means you can save on shipping fees with larger orders. Therefore, more motivation to be an even better gift giver.

6. gingerbread and candy canes 🍪🍭

Start baking festive recipes and buy a big bucket of candy canes. This is a delicious way for you to get ready for the feasts that are right around the corner. Plus, you’ll need the baking practice for the midnight cookies you’re going to leave out for Santa.

7. events ✨

Last on this list, check your area for any events coming up. Nothing inspires the Christmas spirit better than a jolly crowd. Here are a few things to look out for in your neighbourhood:

  • Christmas lights – Drive around your suburb at night and see the wonder of those who put effort into things
  • Visits from Santa– Take the little ones to meet the man himself – the smiles on their faces will be priceless
  • Public movies and carols – Many local event spaces host public movies and carol events that you can take your red and green picnic blanket to and relax

5 Ways to Save on Your Thanksgiving Meal This Year

It’s that time of year again, where we join with family and friends for the feast of the year. Thanksgiving is a holiday full of grace, family and of course, food. For those of you who host Thanksgiving, you know how stressful it can be to get everything done in time and under a budget. Here are five tips for saving on your Thanksgiving meal this year.

1. Don’t Worry About Getting too Fancy

Many people try hard to make the best impression in their guests with their food, however this does not mean that you must make every little detail more and more extra. Thanksgiving is about the classics, don’t ruin them with fancy add ons that some people may not like.

2. Pay Attention to Where and When You’re Buying.

As much as you may tell yourself that you are going to go shopping early for thanksgiving, many of you know you don’t actually end up doing so. Staying under the right budget is all about finding the right times to shop and the right places. Find your go to markets and do all you can to find coupons and deals. Getting a friend or family member to help you with this will especially make you do it must more efficiently then you would by yourself.

3. Make a plan.

Decide on your menu early, and figure out exactly what you’ll need. When you’re not organized with knowing what you need, you end up buying anything you see that might look like it’ll come to use, but never does. Also get a number of how many people you’ll be needing to feed, and keep this number in mind while shopping. Leftovers can always be given out to guests, but making sure you’re not buying twice or what you need is important.

4. Check for What You Already Have!

The biggest mistake is buying extra of something that you may never use again. Figuring out what you’re MISSING is essential to the perfect thanksgiving budget. Make use of what you already have, and don’t stress about getting too much of something, the best things come in small packages! Always remember that with food, it is quality over quantity.

5.  Make it a PotLuck!

This is by far one of the bests ways to save on a Thanksgiving meal, or on any occasion. Let your guests know that they are able to bring their own dishes, this way you won’t be stuck cooking all the food. Also try to know who is bringing what, this way you don’t have too much of one thing and not enough of something else. People will get excited to have everyone try their foods, and will most likely want to participate in bringing something.

Overall, don’t stress too much about making this Thanksgiving perfect. Spending the time with family and friends will make it worth the hassle. Keep your budget on point, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Knowing Jason Tatum

Jason Tatum, whether this name sounds familiar to you or not is definitely someone who deserves to be acknowledged and spoken highly of. If you’re not big with basketball, that’s perfectly fine. But if you would like to know more about The Boston Celtics and their players, this is just for you.

Facts to know: Jason Christopher Tatum plays as a Small forward for The Boston Celtics, and was a rookie last season. His number is 0 and he played for Duke University before joining the NBA. He is 6’8, 205 lbs and 20 years old born March 3, 1998 in St. Louis Missouri.

Tatum Before the Celtics

When Jason Tatum was in elementary as a kid, he used to get in trouble for watching  highlight videos of Kobe Bryant. He says that school is very important, but he needed to watch basketball. During high school, Tatum went from averaging 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game his freshman year, to 29.6 points and 9.1 rebounds his senior year. He made a verbal commitment to Duke University prior to his senior year. At Duke, Jason Tatum was a five star recruit and regarded as one of the top players in the 2016 class. He was also ranked #3 overall player by ESPN. At the conclusion of his freshman season, Jason opted to go directly into the 2017 NBA draft, where he was projected as a first round selection.

Tatum Joining the Celtics

Jason Tatum played his first season with the Celtics during the 2017- 2018 season. In interviews, he has spoken about how he felt during his first game and how crazy it was for him to be playing with other NBA players. “Early in the season, when we played LeBron or the Greek Freak or Golden State, right before tip-off, I would just look at them,” he says. “Like: This is my life. Damn. I’m 19, right next to KD, getting ready to play basketball.” He said in an interview with GQ. He has averaged 30.5 minutes of playing per game, 5 rebounds and 13 points.

One of Tatum’s best highlights was dunking on LeBron.

Durring Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Jason Tatum submitted the biggest highlight of the Boston Celtics 2017- 2018 season.

“I knew when Brad drew up the play, I told myself I was gonna dunk the ball. I remember I told myself, ‘just go to the rim, go try to dunk it.’ I obviously didn’t know he was gonna be down there, but when I turned the corner I saw him, and I was like ‘uh oh.’

I just knew I had to try to dunk it as quick as possible, because obviously he’s a great shot blocker. It just happened so fast, I don’t even remember jumping. I just remember jumping and then I blinked, and then I dunked on him, and I chest bumped him.”

Ultimately, Jason has achieved a lot in his basketball career at age 20, and still yet has a lot ahead of him. What’s more exciting is looking forward to his performance this season. This’ll be his second year as an NBA player, and definitely has what it takes to blow everyone’s mind. He has the potential, and the heart to become
